👩🍳 The Secret: Cookie Cutters & Corn Tortillas!
This recipe is all about transforming humble corn tortillas into festive, crunchy, and irresistible chips. It's a fantastic activity to do with kids, and they'll love seeing their creations come to life.
Ingredients
1 package of pre-made corn tortillas (your favorite brand)
Olive oil (for drizzling)
Salt (fine sea salt or table salt works best)
Pumpkin-shaped cookie cutter (or any spooky shape you like that doesn't have a ton of sharp corners.)
I chose a pumpkin cutter with interchangeable eyes and mouths for extra fun!
📝 Super Simple Instructions
Step 1: Prep & Preheat
1. Preheat your oven to 450 degrees Fahrenheit.
2. Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil. This makes cleanup a breeze!
3. Lightly drizzle olive oil onto the foil-lined baking sheet. You can spread it around with a pastry brush to ensure an even, thin coating.

Step 2: Cut Your Shapes
Tip: Depending on the size of your cutter and tortillas, you might get 2-3 shapes per tortilla.
Carefully lift the pumpkin shapes and place them onto the prepared baking sheet. Arrange them in a single layer, ensuring they are next to each other but not touching. This allows for even baking and crispness.

Tip: Don't Waste! Gather the tortilla scraps and bake them alongside your pumpkin shapes for extra snacking! They'll be just as delicious, just irregular.
Step 3: Bake to Crispy Perfection, Salt & Serve!
Bake for exactly 5 minutes. Keep a close eye on them, as oven temperatures can vary! You're looking for them to turn slightly golden and become firm and crispy.
As soon as you pull the hot chips from the oven, generously sprinkle them with salt. The heat will help the salt adhere beautifully.
Let them cool for just a minute or two before serving.
